That thread link is getting passed on to so many friends... fuckin' 77 pages and counting, and each one a gem!

Looking forward to your input... nuggets like this will be tough to beat tho'

The imaginatively named Neytiri posts:

"Avatar is the stuff that magic calls magic, so its like magic to the 10th power."

in response to Neylana's insightful view of the film:

"Still it's amazing what power avatar has giving!!!

never happened to be before!

avatar = magic "
Evil tempts me. Oh man, does it tempt me. But I haven't trolled a forum since Stromfront after the '04 elections and I'm not about to start again for Avatar.
Where/when did Cameron confirm the gaming-theory, Andre?
In his "Black Lung" from the anti smoking society rebuttal.

Last forum I trolled was a forum dedicated to bananas.

Oh, that's right. Though, I kinda read that as Cameron just spouting BS to defend himself from the anti-smoking brigade.

Did that turn out well? Or did you slip up? (So, sorry)
holy shit, anyone read that post from the guy who wants to be hitler, only destroy the entire human race then kill himself at the end? i really hope that was a troll because that entire post is epically hilarious
jeebus, that "wahhhh, i wanna be on pandora" board is prime material a psychological study thesis; Im surprised Peta, Greenpeace or the WFW arent buying ad time and recruiting new members there.
It wont work, because most six legged creatures on earth are godamn relatives of the spider cricket.
as for the deathtrap of a planet argument...there's always australia, eh?

I'd love to send some of those freaks to 'be at one' with the nature and terrain in Australia (being a Brit maybe it's inbuilt for me to try to send undesirables to that country), see them try to tame and ride a 25 foot Saltwater Croc.
That thread is terrifyingly awesome. Troll away, Chewers! Good heavens, what was IN that film that's made so many people so darn obsessed with it? It was a fun, beautiful, cliched, ultimately forgettable time at the movies.

Also, thanks for bringing up the Trudy incident a few pages back. The complete lack of court-martial or even follow-up with that character following her "I didn't sign up for this" was completely mystifying to me. She's straight out of Plot Convenience Playhouse.
They've lost their minds...

As many of the others here have already expressed.. This depression is very real. I look at our greedy, materialistic world and it is hard to hold back my tears of my sorrow. It seems that all I can think about all day is how wonderful it would be to live in the world of Pandora--where my dreams become a reality. I'm stuck in dreams or daydreams nearly 100% of my time. Where Manga and WoW once filled my time, Avatar and its luscious world now occupy it.

This in itself, my friends, is not my major problem at the moment though.. What concerns me. Before I admit this online I must say it is slightly embarrassing lol. But after reading this thread I am quite certain this is the only place in OUR world where I will not be mocked for this.

While I was in the movie the first four times these thoughts never surfaced, as soon as I entered the movie for the fifth time I started to experience strong.. urges.. lol. The Na'vi are now more attractive to me than people are. I am having trouble looking at my gf the same way and unless I can do something about her I am certain we will have serious relationship troubles because of it. I don't know whether I should simply embrace the beauty of the Na'vi or reject it for my mere human urges. I am here to ask your advice, or to seek your counsel. I would like to ask her to dress up as a Na'vi but I am unsure about how this request will be received... Even then, she will not match their beauty, *sigh*

Things you don't want to think about: How many serial masturbators you shared air with while watching this in the theater.
If someone wanted to put up a fake website that made Avatars fans look as crazy and idiotic as possible, no way could anyone do a better job then the fans on that Avatar Website are doing by themselves.
It was only a matter of time before the Na'vi fetishists showed up.
This is some twisted PENTHOUSE FORUM stuff.
There's no way that guy has a girlfriend....lol.

It went Godwin really fast.
You know what scares me most about this? Star Trek, yeah, you've got weirdos, but you also have years and years of canon, and three seasons of telelvision towards the beginning of that insanity. This movie has been out less than twenty days.
Thing is, now we are gonna be wondering if the really whacked out (or whacking off) ones are real sad psychos, or inventive Chewers trolling their hearts out.

Ehhh... this one took it a bit too far to be for real. I still have faith in humanity! (weeps tears of sorrow)

But Cameron's been lacing our water supply with zany juice for the past 10 years. All those trips underwater? Hmm?
you are a sick puppy Jake, bottom of page three.

Im doing exactly the same thing Gurn ^^ After ive seen the movie I scrounged the internet for EVERYTHING avatar. And ended up at imdb boards, and now here. And yet still I want more of Avatar! Going to go see it for the third time on saturday next week with friends...

I like this addiction,

this is great.

Someone named Jim posting on that board:

I am very flattered that you thought so highly of this incredible journey I have been on for the last 10 years. Technology is evolving, and while we may be pretty far away from having flesh-and-bone Avatars, the digital equivalent is right around the corner.

There will be more Avatar adventures to come. After my terrific crew at Weta and I have had a rest, that is

James

Huh?
If that was really Cameron, it would have ended "Jim out!"

I doubt that was Cameron, but if it was, somebody needs to convince him to take some of the big bucks he is making from Avatar and hire the best mental health experts available, because he needs them badly.

Come on, jake, the risk aint worth it...what if they convert you, or worse, it turns out to be contagious?
next thing you know, you'll be running nakes and painted blu across a freeway, screaming.
At this point, couldn't there probably be another thread specifically for this?

Because god knows, it's worth investigating. But in the spirit of not having a massive derail and all...

I think Jake just decide that old L. Ron Hubbard was right, Religion is the best way to make money. Forum Mod today head priest of what ever tomorrow.
One downside of Avatar's being so freaking huge at the box office:

If Cameron's ego was truly obnoxous before..and even people who admire him as a filmmaker admit it was...it is to make one shudder to think what it is going to be like now.
I love that all these WOW refugees now think they need to get back to nature, like nature's going to be all "what's up plug into me and be at one with shit." Here comes the ending of Grizzly Man a few dozen times.

Helluva soundtrack, that one.
