Both the 30s and 40s have plenty of excellent films to fill up a draft.  I'd hate to combine them, in all honesty.

In for any, but prefer the decades.

The 30s and 40s are MASSIVE film decades. I could do drafts on individual years.

AI have opened the thread for the Beetlejuice Casting Draft. That's what we're doing! Starts next week, sorry Judas, we got the holidays coming up here.

Should be just a good old fashioned draft. I was shocked to discover this movie is almost thirty years old now.

I'm in!  I'll do my best!

Man, it's like you guys intentionally pick movies I have absolutely no connection to whatsoever.   I guess I gotta revisit it after, damn, must be 25 years now.

Anyway, I'll run the 40's draft if necessary, and I hope there can be a relatively quick turnaround (say, sometime in January?)  This Beetlejuice thing isn't meaty enough to give me my draft fix.

Kinda with Bailey on BEETLEJUICE, but I always have too much fun with these regardless of my own personal connection to the film.

I'm sure it'll seem more fun once I watch the thing.  I don't even think I remember half of it.

We got ten players right now. This is definitely more of a quickie than some of our grander drafts, but I was still hoping for sixteen or so, so if you're on the fence, jump on in! This is kind of a challenging one, actually, so I'm hoping to see a bit more turn out.

I'll be honest: I've actually never seen Beetlejuice. Maybe now's the time. We'll see if I can fit it in this weekend (traveling) - if I can, I'll sign up.

AYeah, I'll be putting up the draft order on Friday, but I can certainly add on to it.

When the casting is over, think we could fit an OPENING SEQUENCE draft in before Xmas?

I would be down for an OPENING SEQUENCES draft. Alternatively, I think the following casting drafts could be fun, either to lead or participate in:

Death Becomes Her

A League of their Own

The Shining

Opening Sequences is cool. Casting drafts I still want:

Glengarry Glen Ross

Midnight Run

Heat

Glengarry would be great - when we had those "recast for X" threads back in the day, that one got a lot of play. I did an all-British version of Heat I'm still exceptionally proud of.

AAfter Hours would be a good casting draft. Kind of an obscure one, though. I'd really like to do the 70s next.
A70s redo gets my vote.

After Hours!

Down for doing a 70's or 80's proper, since I missed both.

Opening Sequences gets my vote, though any of those casting drafts sound fun.

I know there was some talk about a score draft earlier, and that would be great as well.

Are we safe for a draft soon?

Yeah, with the SW knockout stalled for the time being, should we just get a draft underway?

Up for a 70's or MIDNIGHT RUN draft.  That could great fun.

We haven't done Buckaroo Banzai yet. Just sayin'.

A modern version would be easier on my end.

I have an idea for THE SHINING draft as well, if anyone is interested. Feels appropriate for winter.

AShining draft I'm very interested in.

I'd love to do The Shining.

Hard to do Danny, though.  'random unknown kid' would pretty much be anyone's pick for him.

Danny would be a freebie, and there would be a few more behind-the-scenes categories to draft to make things interesting.

We've done three recasts in a row. I'm more up for a genre or decade draft.

I'd prefer that too.

Yes. Everybody stop being afraid of the 40s. There's plenty there for you, I promise.

Three or four of my top 10 come from the 40s, so I'd be down for that.

Still waiting for a proper moment with the 70's or 80's myself.

Wanted to say that I really enjoyed running the 1940s draft, and it actually helped me keep my mind off some of the crazy happening in the world, so I would love to keep running drafts on a semi-regular basis if you guys are interested - maybe a new one every two weeks? Sign ups for one while we're doing the finals/brackets on the last?
