Aw man, Grosse was the deputy that got gunned down on Banshee.

But at least Asia Argento has company as Ciganovich is the second woman to be accused in MeToo. Unless im forgetting someone.

I will say this for the 100th time since Epstein was arrested but I don't really buy into conspiracy theories and I don't plan to start but.....COME ON!

Yeah, suspicion and conspiracy theory will be a part of this story till kingdom come, now.

For those who haven’t seen the headline yet, Epstein was found unconscious in his cell this morning and pronounced dead at a hospital, one day after the unsealing and publication of documents where one of Epstein’s accusers named a bunch of wealthy and powerful clients she says she was pimped out to.

ETA: Seriously though, it defies credulity that the prison didn’t have him on some kind of suicide watch after the first hanging attempt.

He was on 24/7 suicide watch. This is extremely fishy.
Reply
NBC News is now reporting that Epstein was no longer on suicide watch.  The FBI has signaled their intent to investigate Epstein’s death, for all the good that will do.

Assisted Suicide Watch, more like. Still, he died the way he lived: with people looking the other way.
Reply
Should have been on homicide watch as well as suicide. I'm sure cameras will have been down near the hallways and doorways of his cell.

DAMN.  Posts like this are why I should visit this board more often than I have lately.

Prosecutors for the Southern District of New York have said this afternoon that the investigation will continue, in the hopes that victims can pursue civil suits against Epstein’s estate and co-conspirators can eventually be charged. The Attorney General for Manhattan issued a statement urging victims and witnesses to continue to come forward.

Sarah Silverman states she was fired from a movie due to an old sketch she did in blackface (she doesn't name the movie):

https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/12/entertain...index.html

Quote:In an episode of her former Comedy Central show "The Sarah Silverman Program" that she has said she no longer stands by, Silverman's character dons dark face paint to see whether it is more difficult to be black or Jewish.

The episode, which was intended to examine racism from the point of view of Silverman's eponymous character, features the comedian saying: "I look like the beautiful Queen Latifah," and telling the congregation at an African-American church: "I'm black today."

Quote:Silverman, an outspoken supporter of Democratic presidential nominee Bernie Sanders and a frequent critic of President Donald Trump, nonetheless argued against "cancel culture" during the podcast.

"It's like, if you're not on board, if you say the wrong thing, if you had a tweet once ... everyone is, like, throwing the first stone," she said, dubbing the trend "righteousness porn."

"On my show, the Sarah Silverman Program, which I love, there's so much problematic from that show. I mean it's brutal," she said.

There has never been a comedy routine or sketch that doesn't sound awful when described in the body of a CNN article.

Jeffrey Epstein's guards fell asleep and falsified records to cover up their failure to check on him for three hours before he died:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/13/nyreg...icers.html

Quote:The two guards who were in the jail unit where Jeffrey Epstein apparently killed himself fell asleep and failed to check on him for about three hours, then falsified records to cover up their mistake, a law enforcement official and a prison official said on Tuesday.

Those disclosures came as the two guards were placed on administrative leave and the warden of the jail, the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, was temporarily reassigned, pending the outcome of the investigation into Mr. Epstein’s death, the Justice Department announced.

The two correctional officers in the special housing unit where Mr. Epstein was held — 9 South — falsely recorded in a log that they had checked on the financier, who was facing sex trafficking charges, every 30 minutes, as was required, the officials said. Such false entries in an official log could constitute a federal crime.

In fact, the guards had been asleep for some or all of the three hours, the officials said.

The attorney general, William P. Barr, on Monday ordered the Justice Department’s inspector general to look into how Mr. Epstein had managed to commit suicide while in custody and why he had been taken off a suicide watch 12 days earlier.

Just, you know, two people taking simultaneous three hour naps while working the same shift. On a job that happens to be monitoring a recent suicide risk who also happens to be ready to testify about being the center of the most notorious criminal conspiracy in the world.

Yeah....check those guard's bank accounts lol. It'd probably be worth a few million to take the heat for negligence and falsifying documents as opposed to a murder rap..

Hey, it's more common than you'd think. Could happen to anybody!

I'd give this a 75% chance of being swept under the rug without any real accountability taking place, while the whole world is watching.

What I'm afraid of is some true Wag the Dog bullshit happening. But...for real..

It's already happening. The conversation around these parts (and on major news outlets) is already shifting to the changing of the Statue of Liberty poem stuff and trade war stuff. I give it a week before the name Jeffrey Epstein has almost totally left the public consciousness. It's just who we are now as a collective information consumer body.

And without near-constant, relentless public pressure, those charged with investigating this fiasco will be only too happy to let it fade into history.

Lawsuits against the estate are being filed by Epstein’s victims now, under a recently passed New York state law that does away with the statute of limitations for crimes like these.  I don’t expect Ghislaine Maxwell to ever turn up again in a country that has an extradition treaty with us, though.  If she’s still alive, she’s activated her retirement plan.  She’ll never be in a position where Epstein’s clients/blackmailees have to worry about her testifying to save herself.

I'm curious. It's clear that they've settled on The Official Story, but I very much doubt it's ever going to become the story people believe.

Sure this whole cover sounds exciting but.....Kay Perry! Dude is claiming she exposed his dick.

But didn't she backtrack on all that? I have horrific flashbacks of her breaking down into tears and begging forgiveness from DeRay Mckesson for wearing braids in her hair.

TV moment of the week, from last nights Real Time (wish I could find a clip of that specific moment, because so much is in the delivery)

Bill Maher: "Yes or no, was Jeffrey Epstein a suicide, or is there something more nefarious?"
Rick Wilson: "Suicide."
Carl Hulse: "Suicide, but fishy."
Betsy Woodruff: "Suicide, but the investigations will probably turn up interesting contents."
Killer Mike: "Nigga, please."

I guess no one thought this was suspicious either back in the day:

https://lawandcrime.com/crazy/jeffrey-ep...s-panties/

Quote:There are a slew of ludicrous details surrounding late convicted abuser Jeffrey Epstein. This is no exception. He was allowed to purchase two pairs of women’s panties from a jail’s store during his sentence in a state case years ago, according to The Miami Herald. That detail came from a purchase log obtained by the outlet. They noted that this size 5 underwear would’ve been too small for an average-sized adult woman, let alone him. He’s been accused of abusing girls as young as 14.

It’s just another detail showing he got very light treatment while serving out a sentence from his 2008 guilty plea in Florida court. The ultra-wealthy financier was sentenced to 18 months behind bars, but only served 13, much of it in a very cozy work release situation. The outlet said the records about Epstein’s jail stay came out too late Friday to get comment from Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw or a representative. They said that for a year, they haven’t been able to interview Bradshaw, who held office since 2004, about Epstein’s work release.
