Trumpocalypse Now
I think you guys are missing the real value of that photo: Don and Ivanka’s uncannily similar closed eye/open mouth derp faces.

The single best thing about Parnas is that he knew (unlike all the other trump sycophants who were eventually cast aside) to KEEP THE RECEIPTS. When dealing with lying backstabbing crooks, get it on film and document everything.

I'll never understand the left's need to make up utter bullshit vs Trump (and W/Cheney) when the truth does just fine. Because you KNOW Fox will hammer any lie, and CNN et al will certainly do its "due diligence" in "fairly" presenting that, even though they let the right's bullshit pass unchallenged.

This has rapidly become my favorite element of the Lev Parnas chapter of this story as well.  It's now widely circulated that Trump had a deep distrust of anyone who took notes, hinting at how thoroughly he's internalized some kind of mobster mentality, but it would be entirely in character if his obsession with being a celebrity with a documented life disarmed his suspicions whenever a henchman or co-conspirator wanted to take a selfie.

This is more than a little problematic...

Quote:Even C-SPAN Is Piqued: Senate Puts Limits on Trial Coverage
The Senate will control the cameras during the impeachment trial, limiting what viewers see, and reporters will be confined to roped-off areas.

News coverage of President Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate began last week with a Republican senator calling a CNN reporter “a liberal hack” in the halls of Congress and laughing about it later that night during a Fox News interview.

Things haven’t improved much since.

Journalists are up in arms about new restrictions on their movement inside the Capitol, which they say will prevent them from easily interviewing lawmakers about the proceedings. The rules, negotiated by Republican Senate leadership, have yet to be written down, causing confusion among reporters and the Capitol Police expected to enforce them.

Even sedate C-SPAN is aggrieved, calling on the Senate to allow its television crews to document the trial, instead of the government-controlled cameras that — as was the case during Bill Clinton’s trial 21 years ago — will limit what viewers see and hear inside the Senate chamber.

Who is going to testify first during impeachment? Michael Cohen, Michael Avenatti, or Lev Parnas?

Trump Plaza in Atlantic City might finally get demolished:

https://www.nj.com/atlantic/2020/01/atla...ce=twitter

Quote:Atlantic City’s mayor wants to demolish the former Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino.

Mayor Marty Small said in a speech Thursday to a business group that knocking down the vacant casino once owned by President Donald Trump is one of his main goals for 2020.

It is currently owned by billionaire Carl Icahn, who assumed ownership of Trump's former casino company from bankruptcy in 2016.

Trump cut most ties with Atlantic City in 2009, and he sued to have his name removed from the shuttered Plaza building in October 2014, a month after it closed. His last remaining interest in the city, a small stake in the company in return for the use of his name, has since been extinguished.

The other two casinos Trump once owned are operating under new brands: the Golden Nugget (once Trump Marina) and Hard Rock (the former Trump Taj Mahal).

Trump Plaza was considered for demolition at least two years ago, but Icahn has not obtained a demolition permit, The Press of Atlantic City reported. His effort to obtain funding from a state agency toward the cost of demolition did not succeed.

Lev Parnas's attorney just asked for the recusal of Attorney General Barr from both his own case, as well as from the broader Ukraine-investigation:

I disagree.

If Obama had done 1/1,000th of what Trump has done, he would've been impeached. Hell, he'd probably have gotten impeached by a DEMOCRATIC congress if he had done that. For the Republicans, you can add as many 0s to the fraction as you want -- they were talking about how if Hillary won in 2016, they would start impeachment proceedings the moment she attained the office:

I've checked out of pretty much everything at this point.  If I were to devote my time to actually watching this sham of a trial, I'd get nothing done and collapse into a pile of rage.

Yep, pretty much where I've been at once it became clear that there is nothing at all that could possibly happen that will appreciably move the needle and get Trump removed. It's all down the election, and truth be told that's all there ever was. No one was ever going to save us except the American voter.

So we're probably fucked, is what I'm saying.

I don't, personally, ever advocate for the assassination of people. It's just not a place I'm willing to let myself go, mentally.

But that doesn't mean it isn't pretty fucking funny to think about Trump having to wrap his fevered brain around the concept of "what's good for the goose..."

Right there with you about not willing to let myself go there.

Fervently wishing several key government figures would meet with horrible accidental deaths, however, is a place I allow myself to go. Sometimes multiple times a day.

And Mike Pence is arrested when it's revealed that he IS "Mother", and is responsible for a series of killings.

He is then unsuccessfully impeached on a party-line vote.

I wonder if the crusty old yokels that were hooting and hollering about 'The Four Jim Jordan Truths' on Fox's "Breakfast With Friends" segment this morning happened to catch this interview snippet where Trump promises to cut their entitlements: https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1220055994149089283

Also, earlier in this interview he babbled about America inventing the wheel.

Eh, when he says stuff they don't like, they'll just say to themselves that he doesn't mean it.

I recommend people read the Saudi Arabia/Jeff Bezos story in the "World" thread.  MBS reportedly hacked Bezos' phone using WhatsApp.

Jared Kushner - who wouldn't have a security clearance if not for his father-in-law - is well known to connect with Saudi Arabia using WhatsApp.

I'd say the odds of Saudi Arabia having a lot of information it shouldn't have is very, very high.
