I said "awesome" out loud, when I noticed the thread's bumping. Glad to hear it, mate!

Maybe "about this time tomorrow" means two days later in Texas, good sir, but in Belfast it means about that time the next day!

I look forward to your explanation.

Life gets in the way, dear Bobby Bear. It gets in the way. Just know that I viewed it. I viewed the hell out of it (twice. Almost thrice!!) and wrote some fantastic shit down. I'm not saying this is the Citizen Kane of Mr. Coombs' Blog Imporium, but it's aces. And jacks. And two of hearts. Two hearts that beat as one.

Okay, so I'm drunk. Possibly on the greatest bender of all time continued since I watched the film. But the review/whateverthefuck will be up within three days. If it's not up by Tuesday I'll eat my hat (note: I do not wear hats. Don't have the head for it).

But yes, in Texas, time is totally flexible. You should really try it out in Belfast.

Given my own hectic schedule, the last thing I wanna do is give you a hard time about that. Just glad to hear this magnum opus* is on its way.

Sounds good, but I think most of us Here are still too attached to keeping ourselves in The Past to try flexing time (thankyouthankyouverymuch...)

* Speaking of magum, how about Magnum Force for a future blog topic?

Golden moments:

We had to watch Blue Velvet in uni for a module called Cinema & Psychoanalysis (it was as awesome as it sounds.) I don't think any other film we watched was met with quite the same interest, general befuddlement, or snickering. Well maybe Now, Voyager trumped it for snickering. But that film did have about 40 fake endings.

The only thing this post lacked was annotations on alcohol intake during the screening. Thanks for using my pick as your first movie special. This was even better than I thought it'd be.

Great stuff! I was just coming in to see when the next blog was gonna be.

I had no idea Alpha Dog boasted as much "crazyass Foster", horny Heard, and naked Wilde. This makes the fact that I caught a glimpse of the DVD in HMV earlier all the more poignant.

From the people who brought you Daniel Craig Isn't James Bond Because He Has Blond Hair and A Poochie'd Up Optimus Prime with Cool Flames Snaking Over His Robot Person Isn't Generation One Optimus and, Ergo, Is Wrong comes another knee-jerk classic...

Totally, mate. Really well put and funny as usual.

Damn fine blog, you have hit the nail on the head. It's not about colour it's about nerds being anal.

I checked out Alpha Dog and thoroughly enjoyed it. Foster was memorably bonkers and the "brospeak" between Hirsch and his cronies delivered laughs consistently. Yelchin was great, as ever. Definitely the stand-out, though Timberlake surprised me.

Glad to see you liked it! It's far from perfect, but it hits some nice emotional moments with stuff like Yelchin's last scene.

I too kinda loved the "brospeak" as you put it. The actors did a good job of making their lingo and constant swearing come across as a bunch of kids playing at being tough which is perfect for these characters, something I've seen a fair number of people misinterpret as simply bad writing/acting.

And never fear dear blog readers, I'm working on an entry for this week as we speak. Probably be up tomorrow. FYI, blogging was much easier when I was perpetually wasted. Today's lesson: Never give up drinking, kids. It makes life way harder than it needs to be.

It's criminal that I have never seen ether Fright Night or it's sequal. I'm going to have to rectify that this weekend.

Great Blog.

That sums it up perfectly, man. Thanks for the tip! To be honest, if it handn't been for that blog, I doubt I'd have ever seen the flick.

You're becoming more and more Greg Dulliesque. This can only be a good thing.

Another blog already? And so soon? But it's not a holiday! Perhaps not officially, but I like to believe that every day is Arbor Day.

Hey, question to my message board readers! Which film would you rather hear me talk about next - Crank 2 or Margot at the Wedding? I've watched them both very recently but only feel like blogging about one (I'll be concurrently blogging about an interesting personal project that's kept me off the internets). Feedback appreciated and sorry for the hiatus.

Crank 2, please. I sense many a laugh either way, but especially if Crank 2 is involved.

I enjoyed your Silent Hill 2 entry, by the way. It reminded me of looking at previews of it back at school. My friends and I would gather around a magazine and all but drool over the graphics... presumably making sure no teachers caught sight of whatever beasts were pictured in the article. "How impressive is this PlayStation 2 gonna be when it finally arrives?" we pondered. "Look at the detail! Not all square like Dino Crisis!*" We were so easily pleased.

* The sequel to which rocked, incidentally.

Only Crank 2 for you Bobby Bear baby. But for now, whatever the fuck this is.

As for Silent Hill 2, keep tabs on the "Ten Favorite Games" thread on CHUD.com as it is one of the top ten. As far as games go, it is one of the best stories ever told, despite a lack of thrilling gameplay. Be that on purpose? Find out in Space Ace 3: The Dawn of Macadamia.

ETA: Yeah, I edited the link. What of it?

Excellent! Thanks, mate.

I don't read as widely in the Games Forum as I probably should, so cheers for that tip, too.

It's always great to come in here and find a new post. Be it long or short, under the influence/discussing being under the influence or not. Though, under the influence is a particular favourite of mine...

For a few bloggings more.

ETA: Hey, just curious, what other Chewers read this on the reg? I know I got my fanclub across the pond, but I'm just curious who digs the style? Please feel free to drop a line in this thread. Along with some constructive criticism (which I probably won't take, but it's worth a shot) or some ideas for posts.

ETA Part Deux: Having sobered up, I'll say that while I'd love to know who all actually reads this, any criticism (no matter how constructive) will be met with stabbing. That is all.

Bakula altercations... "Bellisariocon"... "Paraguay rules" - the bar continues to be raised.

Apparently, I'm not dead. New blog some sober time tomorrow to prove it.

"Why not just wait and say this when you update?" You ask?

Well, excuse me for getting access to a computer and the internet and wanting to say hi!

Jerk.
