Hey Martianman and any other lacrosse fans who frequent these boards:

Ooo, spiffy. I just bought tickets for the home opener of the Swarm in January. My son is playing high school lax now, so we'll see if the schedule allows us to attend more games. Last year all his games clashed with the Swarm home games.

Getting my tickets for the Stealth home opener tomorrow. So stoked!  I have a good feeling about this season...which is what I say every year. <img src=" src="http://files.chud.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" />

SIX MORE SLEEPS UNTIL THE 2017 SEASON STARTS!

SHIIIT. Because of ice and snow bedlam here in Atlanta Saturday night, and also because we were leaving for a trip on Sunday, we completely whiffed on going to the season opener. Even after we had already bought tickets. ARGH. Will have to make another this season.

You know what I'm doing Saturday night? Screaming my lungs out cheering on the Stealth as they take our longtime rival the Calgary Roughnecks in their home opener!

Geez Martian, you need to plan all your activities/trips around the NLL schedule. Big picture man, BIG PICTURE! <img src=" src="http://files.chud.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif" />

Swarm is 4-0! What the heck?

Well at least the team from Atlanta beat New England in one sport. Swarm are 5-1!

*blows dust off the thread*

Well look at that. The Vancouver Stealth are in the playoffs for the first time in four years since they relocated from Washington State and they are having a run of amazing games right now. The Swarm are also in as well!

Next weekend is going to be full of intense playoff lacrosse. Can't wait!

Yeah the Swarm has had a great season. I've been to 2 of the home games this year and am going to try and make a playoff game.

W00t! Swarm going to the finals! I've given Poulin a lot of shit all season, but man he played great in goal tonight.

Game 1 down! Will they pull a Falcons and blow it in Game 2?

AWhat a crazy ending! See, a team in Atlanta can win a championship!

Fett, why haven't you congratulated my team yet? Lol.

Geez, I'm really sorry for the lateness on this. Congratulations to the Swarm for winning the Champion's Cup! That's quite a feat beating the Rush.

Oh, the 2017-18 season starts next Friday!

Picked up a 4 pack to see a game--now we have to get everyone's schedules on the same page to get to a game.

My folks got me an early Christmas present: A two game flex pack featuring the Stealth vs the Toronto Rock in January and then a tilt against the Calgary Roughnecks in March.  They know me too well.

Let's see how the Stealth are doing this year:

Sigh.

AThat's OK, the Swarm started in an 0-5 hole. Up 9-8 at the half. Been an exciting game but man are the Rock players assholes.

ACrazy game. Went to OT at 13-13 and Swarm won after about 6 min into OT. Throat is sore today. Lol.

Poulin (the goalie for the Swarm) drives me insane. He can make these crazy saves, but if you shoot right at him, he completely misses it. The Stealth is the only other team with a minus in point differential in the league and Georgia is also 2nd to last (behind? in front of?) the Stealth in goals allowed. He drove me absolutely crazy last year watching him play when Georgia had a 6' 7" guy at goalie who, to me, looked better whenever they played him. But that guy is gone, and Poulin is still here.

So my Vancouver Stealth are now officially eliminated from the playoffs with their loss to the Calgary Roughnecks on Saturday night. I was there live and it was an intense hard-hitting tilt between two division rivals that really hammered home how much I love this sport. The Langley Events Centre is a fantastic arena for lacrosse and I hope the Stealth stick around for the foreseeable future.

That being said I'll be rooting for my fallback team, the Saskatchewan Rush, to make a deep run into the playoffs again this year.

[Image: 9cba9fe1-e502-45d6-9ad7-a8d552cf52eb-jpeg.69416]

The NLL Playoffs begin this weekend with single elimination games so expect some intense lacrosse!

New England Black Wolves vs Rochester Knighthawks on Friday night to determine who faces the defending Champion's Cup champions the Georgia Swarm next week. Then on Saturday night the Calgary Roughnecks take on the Colorado Mammoth to see who faces the Saskatchewan Rush the next week as well.

They'll be broadcasting all these games on Twitter so check them out!

I've seen that trophy in person a couple of times now (the old one). The Swarm has been to a bunch of lacrosse games that my son has played, and they bring the trophy with them, and I've seen it at a couple of games.

That's pretty neat. Hopefully my local team will not be absolutely terrible next season. :'(

Love how the NLL Playoffs dovetail nicely into the summer ball (box lacrosse) season here in Canada. Can't wait!
