The Face of Another

I've been meaning to post about this movie....

"The Face of Another"

It deserves it's own thread.  I caught it purely by accident on TCM a couple weeks back....WOW!   Seriously David Lynch meets Cronenberg trippy.

from the wiki entry-

The Face of Another (他人の顔 Tanin no kao?) is a 1966 Japanese film directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara and based on the novel of the same name written by Kōbō Abe. The story follows an engineer, Okuyama, whose face is severely burnt in an unspecified work-related accident and is given a new face in the form of a lifelike mask.

I see there is a Criterion version of the movie available as part of a set:  "Three Films by Hiroshi Teshigahara"

It was on TCM late at night....maybe not the best movie to watch right before bed....

This is on Hulu Plus. I've added it to the queue. Thanks for the rec!
