Hollywood Scandals & Assorted Skeeve Catch-All
Surveillance video shows that besides the two officers charged today, no one entered the SHU -- where Epstein was housed -- at anytime during the night he died:

https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/late...s-67136333

Quote:Federal prosecutors say security camera footage proves Jeffrey Epstein was alone in his cell the night he killed himself.

The 66-year-old financier’s death in prison while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges prompted conspiracy theories from people who don’t accept the official ruling that the death was a suicide.

Prosecutors said Tuesday in announcing a case against two guards accused of falsifying records that video surveillance shows no one entered the area in which Epstein was housed.

The pathologist hired by Epstein's family to investigate his death says he’s still not convinced.

Big bad day for dirtbags. First, Homeland Security isn't saying why they raided a couple of Duggar properties...but they did raid them:

Next, in what has to be the worst promotion for THE CROWN, after months of criticism and a particularly awful interview (as well as reports he likes to use the n word), the Queen benched her son Prince Andrew:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/20/world...stein.html

(I believe that Andrew "asked" to step down from public duties the same way Princess Margaret and Peter Townsend "decided" not to get married.)

Finally, Apple is pulling the premiere of THE BANKER, their big splashy theatrical release, a day before it was supposed to screen at AFI. Already there are reports/stories that the filmmakers didn't do their homework and there are "complaints" about the guy Anthony Mackie plays.

There's reportedly a "toxic culture" at "America's Got Talent," which led to two stars (Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough) leaving the show after one season:

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/toxi...11576.html

Quote:Fans were surprised to learn over the weekend that both Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough were departing America's Got Talent after only one season, and a new report suggests toxic workplace culture is to blame. The explosive allegations are detailed in a Variety article published Tuesday which claims Union expressed concern over offensive incidents on set. The report also alleges both Union and Hough were subjected to excessive notes on their physical appearance.

One specific incident reportedly involves Jay Leno, who allegedly offended AGT staffers in April when he taped an appearance for the show. The former late night host purportedly made a joke about a painting on display of judge and executive producer Simon Cowell who was surrounded by his dogs. Leno quipped that the pets looked like something one would find "on the menu at a Korean restaurant," four people at the taping told Variety. When some people voiced concern about the inappropriate joke, Union supposedly urged producers to report the incident to human resources at NBC, multiple insiders claimed, but several sources said it was never escalated. The line was apparently cut from the episode when it aired on August 6.

Yahoo Entertainment reached out to representatives for Leno and Union, but did not immediately receive responses.

The alleged Leno situation is one example of what multiple insiders told Variety was a toxic culture at the show. According to sources, Hough and Union were critiqued over their physical appearance. "Two insiders familiar with the set said Hough had received consistent criticism on hair, makeup and wardrobe, which impacted her morale and led to tensions," the report states.

Hough, who has two upcoming Christmas specials with NBC, denied the claims to Variety.

"I had a wonderful time on America’s Got Talent, I loved working with the cast, crew and producers. I am happy to continue my working relationship with NBC," she said, expressing excitement for Holidays With the Houghs and Christmas in Rockefeller Center. "I’m looking forward to what the future holds."

As for Union, Variety reports she "was subjected to a very specific critique — that her rotating hair styles were 'too black' for the audience of AGT, a note she received over half a dozen times, according to four sources with direct knowledge of the exchanges who spoke on the condition of anonymity."

The article claims Union also expressed concern over an incident that occurred during an audition taping this season when she believed a white male performer crossed the line in portraying people of color. Producers purportedly told her they would edit the moment out later. A rep for Union declined to comment to Variety.

What's so weird about eating dogs, anyway? I'm pretty sure they're made out of meat.

Yeah, he didn't make the workplace "toxic," he made it lame and hacky.

The tragedy here is that Leno could have easily diffused the situation by bringing out the Dancing Itos.

Leno is known as a safe comic generally. It's why he can do corporate gigs and get fat checks. So unfunny yeah but he was usually not offensive. That's why it's perfect. The one time he says something offensive of course it's the hackiest shit in the world.

Can't really get worked up about Leno over this joke myself, but anyone who finds themselves in need of seeing Jay humiliated can always spin up this classic bit of television, and Jimmy Kimmel's finest work.

Louis C.K. doesn't seem to like public scrutiny in New York City all that much:

https://www.mediaite.com/news/louis-ck-j...york-city/

Quote:Comedian Louis CK, who is touring again two years after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct and harassment, told more of his trademark, boundary-pushing jokes in a comedy club in Israel.

According to the New York Daily News, the comedian was lamenting the public scrutiny that comes with living in his hometown, New York City, during a Thanksgiving night performance in a comedy club outside Tel Aviv. CK, who is Jewish, joked that he would prefer to live in the former Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz, but with a major caveat.

“I’d rather be in Auschwitz than New York City,” he told the audience. “I mean now, not when it was open.”

The comic also addressed the sexual harassment claims that he masturbated in front of other female comedians, which conceded did happen. And then he chose to make light of his victimizing of the women, sarcastically cautioning his audience not to repeat his behavior.

“If they say ‘yes,’ then still don’t do it, because it’s not popular,” he snarked.

Per the Daily News, CK got a rousing round of applause during his set, despite his joke invoking the Holocaust.

Speaking of "Whiny" comedians. Let me introduce Pete Davidson

https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/pete-da...203420180/

It's one thing not to allow recordings. But to make people sign an NDA not to even talk about it on any social network is laughable. SNL should skewer him next week. I hope they fire this junkie soon. He is way too up his own ass

Not exactly Hollywood, but good grief:

https://news.yahoo.com/spanish-big-broth...44245.html

Quote:Dozens of companies have announced they will no longer be advertising on the Spanish version of the TV reality show Big Brother after it emerged that a contestant had been shown footage of her alleged rape.

Carlota Prado was sent to the diary room to watch a video of how a fellow contestant apparently had sex with her when she was unconscious after drinking.

"Please, Super, stop now, please," a tearful Ms Prado asked. But the tape continued to play, with the Voice saying: “We think you need to see this, Carlota.” The scene was never broadcast but was leaked to the Spanish press this week.

Until being asked to enter the diary room, Ms Prado had no idea of what had happened the previous night in her bed after she had been helped to lie down by José María López, her fellow contestant with whom she had started a relationship with in the house.

According to footage of the alleged rape, she said “no, I can’t” to Mr López. But he then got into bed with the prone Ms Prado and allegedly had sex with her for several minutes before the show’s production team spoke over the bedroom speaker to interrupt him.

After the diary room treatment of Ms Prado was revealed by the digital newspaper El Confidencial, a series of advertisers have pulled their support for Big Brother. This week large companies including Telefónica and Ferrero Rocher joined a list of more than 40 brands that have announced they are severing their connection with the reality show broadcast by the Telecinco station since 2000.

Endemol Shine Group, the company that owns the rights to the Big Brother format, said in a statement the decision to inform Ms Prado of the alleged assault without the presence of a psychologist or any other person present was a mistake:

“With hindsight we regret that the conversation where Carlota was informed took place in the diary room environment,” the company said, adding that Mr López was expelled from the show and that Ms Prado was given psychological support after the diary room experience.

Ms Prado spent several days in a hotel before returning to the show. Representatives of Zeppelin, the Spanish production company that makes Gran Hermano, reported Mr López to the police and Ms Prado later added her own complaint.

An investigative judge recently concluded that there were grounds to put Mr López on trial for alleged sexual abuse, although his lawyer has said his client denies the charge.
