The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (dir/writ/prod The Coen Bros)
#1

Yup. The Coens are going to write and direct a western miniseries - their first-ever project for TV, producing it alongside Megan Ellison of Annapurna. No network yet, but you gotta imagine there's going to be one heck of a bidding war for it.

Sounds like they're also going to try to figure out how to distribute at least part of it in movie theaters as well. Hope they can get Deakins to shoot the whole thing.

So this is apparently a 132-minute feature film and will be hitting theaters as well as Netflix for Oscar eligibility.

Some sites are reporting that the project somehow morphed from being a limited series into a move, but that doesn't ring true, unless you somehow believe the Coens said, "Yeah, we're gonna cut this down by 4.5 hours."  I bet this was going to be a western CREEPSHOW from jump street.

EDIT: Uh, whoops, looks like the discussion moved to the Focused Film forum, which is where it belongs now anyway.
