So who becomes the Dan Castellaneta to Will Smith's Robin Williams? Marlon Wayans?

I'm in. I enjoyed the hell out of the live action remake.

Quote:Disney just can't lose.

John Carter
Mars Needs Moms
Wrinkle in Time
The Nutcracker
Lone Ranger
Mary Floppins
Solo
Dumbo
Tomorrowland
Dark Phoenix (it was Disney's problem at the time of release)

I don't know if you've been keeping up on current events ...

Okay, they can’t lose when it comes to live-action adaptations. Or MOST Marvel movies. Or Star Wars...

They’re doing okay!

I liked the remake a lot, but much of that relied on the classic soundtrack. They added exactly one new song and it was fucking TERRIBLE, so I'm expecting an entire film comprised of new tunes to be a serious step down.
I might have been born yesterday sir, but I stayed up all night!

The "Welcome to the Forty Thieves" Song from the second sequel is well worth incorporating.  I would argue it's one of the better nu-Disney songs, period, without caveats.

That's pretty true. As a whole, that movie wasn't a patch on the original, but it was a significant step up from Return of Jafar, which was my introduction as a child to the world of Crap DTV Sequels (well, that and the forty billion Land Before Time sequels.)
