My Favorite Shapes
#1
The Julio Torres one off show on HBO.

I thought it was pretty funny but the highlight was this:

Quote:“My least favorite shape is someone telling me it is what it is,”

I hate that phrase, so defeated and fatalistic.

I mean, to a certain extent I absolutely agree.  The entire philosophy and outlook behind it ... ugh.

Then again, ultimately, it is what it is.

My favorite Shape is Michael Myers.

For the additional context after he said that, he held up a black earring or broach and said "This is Helena Bonham Carter".

Then a swingy metal earring, and said "This is Shakira".

Then he held a pearl and let it roll around a little bit, claiming it was shy.  "This is Timothy Chalamet"

As for 'it is what it is' there is a joke in Spanish about a poor speaker of spanish trying to buy socks.  I don't know how the whole thing goes anymore but the clerk keeps saying to him 'Eso si que es" which means the same thing and phonetically spells S O C K S.

That's also from an early-mid 90's 'learn spanish the easy way' infomercial.

...it's been a million years since my couple years of Spanish in college, but I'm preeeeetty sure C is pronounced "se" and K is "ka."

Also S is "ese," though that fudges a little easier.
