2019-2020 NBA Season

No better way to ring in the upcoming season than with Shaq tearing into Damian Lillard via diss track:

Principles are easy to stand by until they are tested. Steve Kerr and LeBron James learned that the hard way this week. It's easy to speak out against Trump when everyone is with you but when China starts to threaten their wallets they sure shut up quick. The entire NBA looks so bad because of this.

Hope this isn't a sign of things to come from him. I want to see his career play out

Who would have thought LeBron would wear a Harry Dean Stanton costume on opening night?

Lakers and Clippers tied at 85 to end the 3rd quarter.

This is fucking great!

Thanks for making a new thread for this season.

Not sure who had a more disappointing night. The Lakers or Dwight Howard's hairdresser?

Keep Nd of surprising the Raptors would only play 8 guys opening night. Might as well pack it in if you can’t count on bench

Checks first half Bulls score-smh

Bulls are still trash. Getting beat by a team rebuilding when you have 3 top 10 draft picks over the last 3 seasons. Still 4 minutes to go and they have given up nearly 60 to the Hornets

Perhaps a little too strong:

So nice seeing the Warriors fall back to Earth. They are going to suck big time this year. Shame that KD went there. Would have like to see what the team was actually capable of

0 championships in 40 years. Then 4 as part of an all-timer dynasty.

They could go 0-82 and Warriors fans would still be playing with house money.

But people won't be nearly as happy to see them have a down year when they see the quality of play as the playoffs go on... Some really ugly offenses are going to go deep.

Loving all the vitriol aimed at the Warriors’ poor performance so far. Shows how deep they hurt so many fanbases around the league the last 5 years.

I enjoyed the Warriors run, but I recognize between Draymond and the KD signing they eventually rubbed people the wrong way. Still, there's more good than bad there with Curry, Thompson, Kerr, et al. In any case it was better than LeBron winning three titles in five years... we can all agree on that, right?

enjoy being a useless franchise again for at least the next 20. And there is no "hurt" Just when they entered cheat mode they became obnoxious

They have smart people in charge, treat their players well, a great fan base, a new stadium, and a core of talent. They'll be fine.

Imagine the hate they'll get next season when they have LaMelo.

The idea the Warriors were in cheat-mode because they teamed up with one high profile free-agent for three years is overblown. Isn't that how most contenders are even built nowadays? Are they supposed to apologize for drafting a core that strong? I can see directing some vitriol at KD, but not the Warriors organization. It's not like other teams in the league that just get free agents simply because of the name on the jersey.

The core is aging and played a ton of games-Curry 31, Klay will be 30 before he plays again, Green will be 30 by seasons end. The run is over. They may not even make the playoffs this year. Then they still have to pay their guys for what they have done so you really can't rebuild for a while. Then you have to hit in the draft multiple times. Good luck.

They likely won't make the playoffs this year. They have the 3rd youngest roster in the league. If they're a fringe playoff team around February they probably won't throw Klay out there just to fight for a 7th or 8th seed.

Take their lumps this year. See what they got in terms of their youngsters. Snag a lottery pick which may or not be used to flip for depth. No worries.

Besides, the whole league is in transition. Who's going to dominate? Lebron's on the downside of his career, and nobody else is screaming out "DYNASTY". We're probably going to have 5+ years where ANYONE can win, so a Warriors team that rattles off 50+ wins will be in the mix, which is where the fun is.

Reports that the Clippers were going to glide to a title this year may have been overblown. They lost tonight to the Jazz (good team for sure) and are now 3-2.

I can't excuse the loss at PHX but tonight Kawhi did not play.  Official word was 'load management'.

And they play the Spurs tomorrow night.

Kings blow a double digit lead to the Hornets at home. Start the season 0-5. Fanbase not digging Luke Walton.

Hey Draymond, you've got a 10-month case of Mono. Cya next season.

So, we're hoping for a "Spurs get Duncan" repeat, right? Who's good in the next draft?

LaMelo Ball is the big name for next year, but I think that’s just because the media wants an excuse to hear his pops again.

The top guy is James Wiseman out of Memphis. On paper, an Anthony Davis-type.

That’s cute that you think your roster matters beyond Steph, Klay, and Green.

30 points from Russell though! On 9-24 shooting but who cares? They need to have him shooting 35 times a night. Inflate his stats to an absurd degree. Then ship him out by the deadline for a wing or a center that will work well with their three Hall of Famers next season.

Great Mavs/Lakers game last night. Lakers totally got away with Howard holding Seth Curry during Danny Green's game-tying 3-pointer.

I'm watching the Heat at Lakers tonight, its halftime and the score is close.

It's great to have great NBA team(s) again in LA.  I am rooting for and watching both of them until I have to choose.

For the Lakers, the way that AD and LeBron fit together so well is a joy to watch.  There are a few standouts on the rest of the team also.  Green and Kuzma have each had a great game already and Howard has been focused and effective.

For the Clippers, wow they might have the most potential of any team, tremendous chemistry.  Without the load mgmt and PG13 injury they could be undefeated.  Kawhi is the best baller in the world right now.

If it seems like the 2 teams are on a collision course, its because they probably are.  The league scheduling their games on night 1 and xmas shows/predicts that.
