Comedian - Smith V Gibson: I'll admit I'm not sure who Smith is, but I think Gibson is an OK choice. I feel like twenty years on, he'd have been much better. DRAW

Manhattan - Malkovich V Day Lewis: I guess I'll go with Malkovich. His oddness would probably help a lot with this role, and the way it would be visualized in 89. MURDOCH

Hollis - Lancaster V Duvall: Both solid, both maybe a bit overqualified. Lancaster is quite old at this point, and Duvall is still somewhat young, but of the two I think Duvall is the more natural fit. MURDOCH

Sally - Barkin V Parton: Ellen Barkin is perfect casting, for Laurie. Pairing her with Aykroyd would probably have been the best Dan/Laurie pairing in the draft. This is a big missed opportunity, to my mind. I might prefer her to Parton here anyway, if her big scenes weren't with William B Davis, who from what I can see is considerably older. DRAW

Rorschach - Atherton V Englund: Atherton is way too much of a preppy for Rorschach, and Englund would be a lot of fun at least. Up to the acting challenge? I don't know, but I'd love to see him try. MURDOCH

Laurie - Winger V Russo: Russo is the more fun pick, and I think she'd be good with Hutton. Can't really see Winger in the role, especially when Barkin is right there. MURDOCH

Vedit - Baldwin V Gere: I think I prefer Gere, slightly. I think he'd be more convincing as a pragmatic genius posing as a harmless sell out. Feels a little trickier for Baldwin to maneuver the bait and switch. MURDOCH

Dan - Aykroyd V Hutton: Love Aykroyd for this. Hutton is alright. HAMMER

Moloch - Walken V Kelly: DeForest Kelly would be distracting, but in the good way. He'd be cool. Walken would kick the shit out of William Atherton, cancer or not MURDOCH

ETC: Love VelJohnson for Dr. Long. I was considering that exactly.

Murdoch takes it for me.
