For starters, I don't really get the British theming, as the story is so explicitly American in its perspective. Moore, an obvious genius when it comes to representing cultures, does such a representative job showing England in From Hell, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and V for Vendetta that its absence in Watchmen feels pronounced. I'm taking this on its merits, but without much in the way of further explanation, I don't think the UK angle adds much.

Dan - Peck V McKean: McKean in Clue mode is spot on. I'll admit, I mostly just know Peck from Jurassic Park, and he's a good actor but hardly a perfect Dan. SUPERLASER

Manhattan - Irons V Swayze: It's admittedly hard to wrap my brain around Irons in this role and not Veidt (which I didn't even love his take for), but I do think Swayze's zen blankness could be interesting here. Could be. It could also not work at all, but Demme might get it out of him. SUPERLASER

Rorschach - Stewart V Smith: I love Verhoeven bad guys in this world (cast two myself), and while Smith's particular brand of vicious comes across a bit less tortured and self-righteous than I'd imagine Kovacs to be, he'd probably be pretty interesting. With Stewart, I can't even imagine it in my head. SUPERLASER

Laurie - Richardson V Curtis: Miranda Richardson is a terrific pick for this concept, and I can totally see her doing it. Bad luck to be up against JLC, though, and I especially like her paired with Spinal Tap's McKean. SUPERLASER

Veidt - Dance V Bowie: Both interesting picks, although I would admit that I think just from a purely semiotic POV, Dance reads a lot more villainous than Bowie, whose got a sort of unknowable vibe that might complement Veidt extremely well. SUPERLASER

Hollis - Williamson V West: Again, Williamson is a solid pick, up against a great pick. West is one of the better picks of the draft. SUPERLASER

Moloch - Gambon V Abraham: Both good picks. I think this is slightly more in Abraham's wheelhouse, which makes me a bit more intrigued to see Gambon. BOONE

Sally - Tierney V Kurtz: Both solid, I think the edge goes to Kurtz, as she's paired delightfully with Ron Perlman SUPERLASER

Comedian - Nicholson V Perlman: Not sure why Nicholson gets cast here, breaking up the BBC theme. I think Perlman would probably be a lot of fun too, but Nicholson would likely be more fun. BOONE

Superlaser gets my vote. Sorry Boone!
