Coming 12/31/89 to a theater near you!
Veidt - Dalton V Redford: I think Redford is the best Veidt drafted, and the subversion of his movie star persona is maybe the closest you can get to duplicating the reveal in the comic. TURING

Comedian - Boothe V Rourke: Powers Boothe is spot on. Rourke would probably be captivating, but Boothe is almost perfect. MOLT

Manhattan - Sadler V Robbins: Robbins brings something interesting to this, which is his enormous size. He's also got a kind of oddness to him that I could see fitting well. Sadler I think of as more of a journeyman, but I don't see this role as a natural fit. TURING

Dan - Neil V Harris: Neil could play the character quite well, though the accent might be tough, whereas Harris is not a natural choice, but could probably make it work. However, I think he's a better Manhattan or Veidt MOLT

Laurie - De Mornay V Shue: Great choices. Tough. Similar in some ways, but I'm not sure whether DeMornay's sultriness is a better fit than Shue's girl-next-door thing. Edge to DeMornay MOLT

Sally - Cassidy V Lange: I think Lange kills this, and can easily play both ages. TURING

Rorschach - Wincott V Caruso: Not in love with either one. Caruso's an interesting pick, but I think plays a bit young and a bit lightweight, while I don't know if Wincott has the chops to carry a role like this (I've never seen him as a protagonist of any kind). DRAW

Moloch - Schiavelli V Berryman: I like how we've largely used famous horror actors for Moloch, although the tradition Berryman comes from is a very different one than the rest. Schiavelli is always a really delightful presence, in pretty much every movie he appears in, so I think I take him. MOLT

Hollis - Crenna V Loggia: Crenna is a terrific surprise pick, not on my radar but just about perfect for this role. MOLT

ETC: I almost took Karen Allen as Laurie. She deserved better, from this draft and from Hollywood, in equal measure.

I think both lists have some liabilities for future brackets, but in this case I vote Molt.
