Big Mac X-ed Out: Todd Loses A Huge Licence...
Those (overated IMO) knuckleheads over at Moore Action Collectibles have scored a major coup this day as it has now aquired the rights to produce figures based on the ever popular The X-Files.

Some of you cats may remember that Our Pal Todd tried his hand at X-Figures back for the movie in 1998 only to see them, like so much of his equally over-praised product, end up at the discount bins located at the aisle next to the baby products at Toys R Us stores everywhere.

While no specifics were mentioned, expect to see Mulder, Scully, and Agent Liquid Metal on toy shelves before the end of the year.

And now, the full press release...

"Moore Action Collectibles, Inc. is excited to announce its newest license recently acquired from Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising (Fox L&M), The X-Files. MAC will work in conjunction with Fox L&M and Ten-Thirteen Productions to produce the upcoming X-Files action figure series.

"We are so pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of such a long running, successful property, which The X-Files has proven to be," says MAC's CEO, Clayburn Moore. "We are very optimistic about the recent changes on the show, and we are looking forward to contributing to the success of both new and established characters through the product we release."

In THE X-FILES' seventh season cliffhanger, agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) was abducted by what appeared to be an alien space ship and agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) revealed the surprising news that she is pregnant. As the eighth season begins, Agent Scully searches for the truth about her missing partner, while simultaneously forced to contend with a resistant FBI bureaucracy and a skeptical new associate, agent John Doggett (Robert Patrick), who reluctantly joins Scully in the search for Mulder.

Beginning as a cult hit on FOX in 1993, THE X-FILES has grown to become a worldwide phenomenon, winning three Golden Globe Awards for Best Dramatic Series and Golden Globe Awards for David Duchovny for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Drama Series and Gillian Anderson for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Drama Series. THE X-FILES airs Sundays 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.

Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, along with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, comprise the retail-oriented strategic alliance of Fox Consumer Products. A recognized industry leader, Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising licenses and markets properties worldwide on behalf of Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, Twentieth Television and Fox Broadcasting Company, as well as third party lines."
