I had a similar major.  The broader dept title was Telecommunications.  I had to do one radio shift for some class but no memory of what I played.

Re:  Sure Shot:  Some years ago I heard the song that is where the flute sample comes from, identified it and bought it.  It's pretty good.

This is my latest discovery, a Radiohead cover

Today I heard some of this live unplugged performance done by Jimmy Cliff at KCRW in 2012 and it was exceptional.

So much so that he had it released as an album.  I don't know who is playing the guitar but the performance and recording of it are amazing.

p.s. I have no idea why but currently KCRW has David Lynch describing the local weather every weekday shortly after 9 am.

It's matter of fact, accurate and delivered directly, with occasional mild cheer.

I'm out of rep, but Rylander, much thanks.

I think I've watched "Awesome I Fuckin' Shot That" 10 times the last two weeks.

Anybody else remember HBO's Reverb? When I was working the 3rd shift a hotel, this concert stuck with me:

There's something weird going on when Necro gives better health advice than the US president. Catchy as hell though. Really old school.

Sat morning David Lynch...

I used to be with "it", but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't "it", and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.   -Grandpa Simpson

My favorite dance-pop track of the year thus far (and I doubt anything will come out in the second half that tops it):

I think my favorite movie of the year might be Bob Dylan's "Murder Most Foul":

So, we can agree that Chris Cornell was basically American Robert Plant, right?

Um, I'm just learning now that Midnight Oil released a new song earlier this summer.  This was not a party I wanted to be late to:

I've got good news and I've got bad news. The bad news is I've lost my way. The good news is I'm way ahead of schedule!
