RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Dent6084 - 03-19-2019

If we do a retro recast, please, please, please, the 1890s.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - boone daniels - 03-19-2019

1980s, but only if we disqualify any actor named more than twice in the B-movie forum.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - atomtastic - 03-19-2019

Spider-Man - Adolphe Le Prince

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Dent6084 - 03-19-2019

Thanos - Georges Melies

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - boone daniels - 03-19-2019

Thanos is obviously the train coming at the audience, c'mon.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Pither - 03-19-2019

I'm personally drawn more to Pulp Fiction, but would also be glad to do Avengers if people are feeling it more. I can probably set something up in mid to late April.

And I see the train as more of a Hulk, but that's just me.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Pither - 03-31-2019

Would folks be up for an AVENGERS retro-cast starting April 22? It feels kind of appropriate, what with ENDGAME coming out later that week. I'm open to further suggestion as to what decade (1960s, 70s, or 80s) we do.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - hifidog - 03-31-2019

I'd say let people pick any decade they wish, but still don't allow any actors to be drafted more than once.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - atomtastic - 03-31-2019

70s sounds the most fun, the multiple decades things could work, but I'd rather their be more competition.

Are we going to have to cast a Bruce Banner and Hulk, or just a Bruce Banner?

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Pither - 03-31-2019

Just Bruce Banner. I'm thinking that way it works out nicely to ten characters:

Steve Rogers/Captain America
Tony Stark/Iron Man
Thor
Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow
Clint Barton/Hawkeye
Bruce Banner
Loki
Nick Fury
Phil Coulson
Maria Hill

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Pither - 04-01-2019

After thinking about it a little more, I'd like to keep it to a single decade. As Atom said, it makes it more competitive. My proposal is that it's still up to each individual as to where in the decade their cast falls.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - atomtastic - 04-01-2019

70s for the decade pls thank u

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Judas Booth - 04-02-2019

Let’s do it.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Richard Dickson - 05-02-2019

I know it'll send Boone up the wall, and I wouldn't want to start it up right away, but I think an '80s X-Men retro re-cast would be golden.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Judas Booth - 05-02-2019

1930s RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK would be fun, especially since all three of the movies take place in the 1930s.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - boone daniels - 05-02-2019

80s X-Men?

It's fine. Smile

No, I really enjoyed this last draft, so I'm down for whatever.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - superlaser - 05-02-2019

80's X-Men sounds neato!

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - hp pufncraft - 05-02-2019

80's X-Men would be fun! I regret not taking part in the Avengers one so I'd be up for this one. It's got enough characters that and 10 round draft would work too.

1. Xavier
2. Magneto
3. Wolverine
4. Rogue
5. Jean Grey
6. Cyclops
7. Storm
8. Mystique
9. Toad
10. Sabertooth

Yep, that's the ten I'd go with.  Then a bonus round where you pick two characters from the other films.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - simbob - 05-04-2019

If it's the '80s X-Men the X-Men lineup would probably look more like the Pryde of the X-Men cartoon and the Konami game. I think for most of the '80s Jean was dead or on X-Force with the other original X-Men.

If it's the Singer movie, which is basically the X-Men fighting a version of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, I'd probably go with something like...

1. Xavier or Cyclope
2. Storm
3. Wolverine
4. Nightcrawler
5. Longshot
6. Rogue
7. Pyro
8. Avalanche
9. Destiny
10. Mystique

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Judas Booth - 05-04-2019

Yeah, for 80s I’d go:
Wolverine
Storm
Kitty Pryde/Sprite/Shadowcat
Colossus
Nightcrawler
Rogue
Longshot
Juggernaut
Mystique
Emma Frost

Bonus:
Shaw
Forge
Thunderbird
Destiny
Caliban

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - atomtastic - 05-04-2019

We also don't have to limit it to ten picks. We did three a day with Boogie Nights. I'd say stick with pufncraft's core ten and then three X-Characters of your choosing.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - huntertarantino - 05-04-2019

80’s X-Men would rule.

But do we do a cast draft or something else next?

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - hifidog - 05-04-2019

For these cast drafts I’d like to see us add a director pick to day one of the draft. The director really changed the way I’d look at a cast. It’s also a fun way to add something to the “competition”

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Pither - 05-06-2019

80s X-Men sounds cool, as does the idea of reworking the lineup to fit the decade.

This has me thinking again about Pulp Fiction, which I think could work as a 15 character draft:

1. Jules
2. Vincent
3. Mia
4. Butch
5. Marsellus
6. Fabienne
7. Pumpkin
8. Honey Bunny
9. Lance
10. Jody
11. The Wolf
12. Jimmie
13. Capt. Koons
14. Zed
15. Maynard

I've also been thinking back to the Casablanca draft, and considering the possibility of doing other movies from that era. Two that have come to mind are The Wizard of Oz (which I think has been floated before), and The Adventures of Robin Hood.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - boone daniels - 05-06-2019

Wizard of Oz
Robin Hood
Maltese Falcon
Big Sleep
Citizen Kane
Grapes of Wrath
Double Indemnity
Sunset Boulevard
Stalag 17
It Happened One Night
It's A Wonderful Life
All About Eve
The Godfather

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - superlaser - 05-06-2019

Oooh Godfather...

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - simbob - 05-07-2019

Godfather in the '40s could be fun.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - hp pufncraft - 05-15-2019

I still think 80's X-Men is the way to go, especially since Dark Phoenix is coming out next month. For better or worse, those movies had an impact on pop culture and we probably wouldn't have made it to Endgame had it not been for the success of the first X-Men. Plus we're coming to the end of a franchise that's been around for nearly 20 years and that kind of seems like a big deal (even if the movie itself will probably be a letdown). A decade draft would be a cool way to mark the event.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - huntertarantino - 05-16-2019

Good point!

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - simbob - 05-17-2019

Oh, I'd rather do '80s X-Men too. I just think '40s Godfather could be fun.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - schwartz - 05-18-2019

We should do Comedy Sketches at some point.

That could be interesting.  Pretty wide field to draw from.

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Pither - 07-05-2019

Assuming the boards are operating smoothly, it looks like I'll have the time to run something later this month. I'm proposing either PULP FICTION (what with Tarantino's new movie nearing release) or JAWS (feels like an appropriate summer thing). Any interest?

RE: Ideas For Future Drafts - Alt-molt - 07-05-2019

I'm up for it, hopefully the boards are.
