Trumpocalypse Now
Considering the role Anthony Weiner played in this moron's election, it's pretty karmic that he'd (I assume) end up Carlos Danger-ing himself along the way.

At least, bacon wasn't mentioned in this story:

https://pagesix.com/2018/03/19/donald-tr...o-vanessa/

Quote:Years before Vanessa Trump filed for divorce from Donald Trump Jr., their marriage was rocked when Don Jr. fell in love with a contestant on NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice.”

Page Six has exclusively learned that Don Jr. — then a so-called “adviser” on the show — fell for Danity Kane star Aubrey O’Day while filming the show in 2011.

Sources say that Vanessa — who filed for divorce from the president’s son last week after 13 years of marriage — was devastated when he told her that he planned to leave her for O’Day.

Vanessa was pregnant with their fourth child, Tristan, around that time.

Don Jr. “pursued her. It was him who chased her,” said a source familiar with the situation. “He told her that his marriage was already in the process of dissolving.”

Added the insider, “I think his marriage to Vanessa was over long before Aubrey came along.”

A second source said that Donald Trump Sr. stepped in when he heard about the relationship and told Don Jr. to “knock it off.”
The first source said that his family “pressured [Don Jr.] to stay in his marriage.”

On election night in 2016, O’Day — who became famous after appearing on P. Diddy’s reality show “Making The Band” in 2015 — tweeted, “my story I didn’t tell is worth millions now.”

However, sources say that O’Day was truly in love with Don Jr., and never wanted money either to tell her story or to keep quiet, and that she was never given any by the Trump family.

That tweet is getting reposted a lot, but the attorney just said that there was additional evidence, including documents.  Taylor is paraphrasing heavily.

Lord willing, the "documents" are just some really hilarious attempts at sexting.

I still think it would be hilarious if after all this, it's his affair with a pornstar that takes down Trump.
Like, the guy is so mediocre and stupid, history itself doesn't think him worthy of going down through a proper scandal.

Thom Tillis and the North Carolina GOP paid $345,000 to Cambridge Analytica for assistance during his 2014 Senate campaign:

It's worth noting that Tillis co-authored one of the bipartisan Mueller Proof bills.

I would not be surprised if the Cambridge Analytica fallout eclipses Russiagate as the biggest scandal in the country. This isn't just about a Tang-colored gorilla threatening people on Twitter, it's not only a reason for Republicans to have a small amount of fear, but those pesky Nigel Farage types as well.

Poets have tried to describe Ankh-Morpork. They have failed. Perhaps it's the sheer zestful vitality of the place, or maybe it's just that a city with a million inhabitants and no sewers is rather robust for poets, who prefer daffodils and no wonder. - Terry Pratchett, Mort

A package destined for Austin blew up at a FedEx facility near San Antonio. Add that to the three bombs that have already gone off in Austin. Now this could be a lone nut-job who likes explosions, but Austin is a pretty well-known liberal bastion in the heart of Red State Texas. This could be a person or group trying to make a point.

The Austin bombings were likely targeting prominent or well-known African-American families as well.

Why does this matter for this thread? When it comes to the infamous, rumored Apprentice tapes, control of them is not with Mark Burnett, but with Barber.

The fourth bombing in Austin was apparently in a predominately white, affluent neighborhood.  However the MO was completely different from the first three bombings, leading some to speculate it may be a copycat/"inspired by"/even retaliation of some type.    It certainly seems to have muddied the waters.

Under "other news" it seems like the mainstream media is basically daring Trump to fire Mueller this morning, since the flood of headlines I'm seeing seems to be designed to reinforce the idea he would totally get away with it because Congressional Republicans would do nothing.

Pro-Bernie Sanders group cancels Hillary Clinton protest

"WASHINGTON — A pro-Bernie Sanders group has canceled an anti-Hillary Clinton protest, its organizer told NBC News on Monday.

The event, created by the leader of a local chapter of Our Revolution, prompted backlash from Clinton allies, leading Sanders' top adviser to condemn it and disassociate his boss from the group, which grew out of Sanders presidential campaign.

Ellen Faden said she had no idea her protest would cause such an uproar.

The founder of the Hazlet, New Jersey, chapter of Our Revolution objected to the fact that Rutgers University is paying Clinton $25,000 for an upcoming speech, so she thought she'd use the event to make a point about money in politics."

EDIT: Looks like they're determined to have their little Hillary protest, just under a different name:

I know it's fun to rag on him, but who's gonna beat Bernie in the 2020 Dem primary? He's the most popular elected official in the country, and these generation z activists with fire in the belly fuckin love him.

Maybe. I know a lot of young people who were very turned off by Bernie in the end. I think a 2020 primary where he's the contender to beat brings up a lot of bad feelings.

I'll take the over on 3 other candidates.

2020 is eons away.  And between now and then, Russian fuckery in 2016 is set to become the centerpiece of impeachment proceedings and thus the defining political issue of the century.  Bernie has been weak as fuck on that topic.  Suspiciously so.

I don't really get why the Hillbots have such disdain for the guy (though I have an idea). He champions most of the ideals they profess to share and threw his support behind her when he didn't have to, despite being screwed over. The amount of Bernie supporters who stuck with him (or voted Trump, for reasons that are beyond me) is less than those who jumped on board McCain's wagon over Obama's, so that really shouldn't be a sticking point. And he actually got young people fired up for the electoral process in a way that Democrats should be salivating over.

I don't disagree with anything Shaun is saying (aside from a number of policy-oriented questions that Bernie never was able to answer effectively during the primary, which is why I didn't vote for him despite agreeing with him on almost everything), except for one big thing that he's never really acknowledged: By making the primary as intensely personal - i.e., Hillary is a corrupt Washington insider - and not condemning his supporters who did things like threw money at her (as well as letting the rampant misogyny of some of the core supporters that would later go on to make up, among other things, the dirtbag left), he fed into a narrative that Trump and the RNC were able to take advantage of and exploit. His personal attacks weakened her in a way that were not helpful in the long term, and I wish he'd acknowledge that.

I mean, if he's the nominee, I'll vote for him. But I think that would be a mistake. Who the fuck knows?

I agree Bern's weak on foreign policy in very trying times, but I'm not sure if that'll be a dealbreaker for people. It's quite uncertain that the neo-liberal alternative will be enough to win anyone over. And 2020 is not "eons away". We'll know what the playing field looks like by the end of this year, bet.

As for the rest of the Democrats running, well...
