Tattoos

So I'm soon going to be getting my second and probably last tattoo. I've got a fleur de lis on the inside of my left wrist. My girlfriend designed it for me and I had it done back in January. I'm going to be getting a Scottish Thistle on my right wrist. My girlfriend is once again going to be designing it for me! Then I will be balanced again, if that makes sense. What do you guys have...or want to have done?

I have the tagline from Hotel For Dogs, backwards, inside my left bicep.

You say so 2000, I say "kickin' it old school."

Back on topic, I've thought about getting inked often but have never pulled the trigger. I have other things I like spending my hard-earned cash on.

Well, it took me from when I was 18 to get the fleur de lis done...I'd wanted it for 7 years...and finally had it done back in January. I cant believe it took me that long, because I love it. My girlfriend finally convinced me that I was ready to do it. She also got her 3rd one when I got mine. She has 3 circles down the inside of each arm, and a bindweed design on her left shoulder/upper arm.

I have a Libra scale drawn up that has a Sagittarius on one scale and a Taurus bull on the other. I am a Libra and my two boys are the other signs. The central pillar is a spine since I am a chiropractor. I'd show you the artwork but that wouldn't be cool to my artist I'd wager.

I'm not sure when it will get put on if ever.

I have three other ideas I have had since 16. Not sure I am the tattoo type.

I always thought it was kinda BS when people said it was addicting, but really, there's something to that

There's a picture of my fleur de lis.

I have a celtic charm on my left shoulder. It's called a "philospher's knot" (I was a philosophy (double) major in college) and it's supposed to bring good luck. Oddly, my ex once bought a windchime with the same knot as its ringer. We speculated long and hard that, if the ringer was placed on the tattoo, it would open the doorway to some unspeakable dimension.

In my case its not really that its addicting now that I have one...its more the fact that I feel unbalanced with only one "side" done.

The fleur de lis is important to me because of my being born in Montreal. And the Scottish Thistle is important because of the Scottish heritage of my family.

You're not opting for Brock Lesnar's ''Cock Sword'' chest? Pfft.

Hahahahaha! Nah, I'm not into the whole "cock sword" thing.

As if Brock Lesnar wasn't a big enough chode before... he went and got the worst tattoo in the history of man.

I have three with a fourth designed. I've got a dragon designed by Pat Fish on my calf, the kanji (yeah, I know) for imagination on my thigh, and Fonebone climbing my back.

The one that's designed for me is a quarter sleeve in honour of Miss K.

As soon as I get the thistle done I'll post a picture up here. It'll probably be in the next two weeks.

2) Cross (made from three spikes)- right shoulder
3) Praying hands with rosary- right side of chest
4) Names of wife and kids in Katakana- over heart
5) Head shot of Jesus- left inner bicep
6) Tridium- left tricep
7) Virgin Mary- left outer bicep
8) Davinci's last supper- left forearm

If I get a tattoo I want it to mean nothing to me, so I won't regret it later. I've been thinking about a potato on my back. 1-2 inches.

I also have a set of three kanji on my right arm meaning Shadow Spirit. I swear to Christ there's a less-than-Hot Topic-y explanation for that one.

i have 5 tattoos.

2 Man Or Astroman? tattoos on my left arm and bicep
Ctrl on my left wrist
a robot "doodle" i dubbed an Aqua-Bot, due to it having a fishbowl with a fish in it for a head on my right arm
and a silhouette of Madman Marz from the poster. i added dripping blood from the ax in place of the glare of light, for effect on my right wrist. i actually submitted this one to the link that was provided from chud a couple of months ago about the upcoming dvd re-release due soon. i got a reply from the guy putting it together asking if he could use it. naturally i said yes. though the tatt isn't much i just submitted it for fun not expecting a reply.

i have a couple of ideas for some other ones. once i start working again i will get them.

I like the V, Justin.

I wasn't going to get the kanji done due to the douchebag factor (even ten years ago it was a douchey kinda thing) but I love the look of it and literally translated it mean "Envisioning an elephant" so I went ahead with it.

ETA: I'll be getting one of nooj's characters tattoed on me as a celebration if I get my pilot finished.

something everyone agrees on, but something no one would say to his face.

I have a few tats. skin looks like it ripped off my shoulder, with skulls and faces looking like there pushing out from the inside.
the standard douchy tribal piece on my calf, meh, it looks decent enough.
and a screaming sun on my back, left side.

Carly suggested getting matching Honey Bunny/Pumpkin tattoos. I think a literal tattoo of a pumpkin would be close enough to meaningless that I'd never regret it, should we ever break up. Plus I'm a fan of obscure references to classic movies.

I'm debating to get my the rest of mt right arm done, I have a shoulder peice that is almost a half sleeve basically. Thinking about getting something with my sons name, and birthdate on my forearm. Just don't know what kind of design to put it with. I'm agnostic, so a cross is out.

I was thinking maybe a facehugger, but even though I guess it's a symbol for a certian type of pregnancy, I don't think it would be fitting for something incorporating the birth of my son.

Hahaaa, you wanna see a parade of shitty tats, tune in to the WWE. All of their tats look like shit except for Randy Orton.

I tip my hat to anyone with the guts to permanently brand themselves, though.

I'm working on a Cthulu design for the left shoulder. It sucks having zero drawing ability whatsoever.

This was my thought when I got mine 11 years ago. I wanted a tattoo because I wanted a tattoo, not because I wanted something meaningful. I chose a pretty cool looking tribal design (yeah yeah, I know) on my right shoulder. I have another planned out for my left when I have the disposable income involving a design I made up with a treble clef morphing into a shamrock with my son's initials and his birthday around it.

Getting a Cheshire Cat tattoo designed at the mo, but it's giving me problems. Oddly enough, it's REALLY difficult making a cat tattoo look manly.
I might have been born yesterday sir, but I stayed up all night!

In all honesty I want to get a tat on my face.

Bad idea? Most definitely.

I've been considering getting black and white portraits of a bunch of Kurt Russell characters. Jack Burton will probably be the center piece with Stuntman Mike and R.J. MacReady there too. And then the best part will be that on either end it will have Snake Plissken and Captain Ron.

For some reason everyone tell me this is a horrible idea.

My friend has the most awesome tattoo on his inner bicep: Jesus rocking out with a Fender guitar. It's more awesome than it sounds. The artwork is very nicely done, and it's a more traditional Jesus so it's not too cheesy. Has the classical "sunburst" look behind him too.

I've never had the balls/stupidity to commit to something for that long on my body. There are certain things I've toyed with, but the trouble is they all mean a great deal to me and they're philosophical/spiritual (loosely) in nature.

I have a hard time imagining that stuff might not change at some point. Plus these days, seems us non-tattoos are the rare ones.

This seems like a good thread for this: In order to pay homage to my heritage, I've been thinking about getting a tattoo related to the Roman Empire. Specifically, I've been trying to find something from the Roman Legion. Unfortunately, most of their symbology was adopted/perverted by the National Socialists. And, for as much as I dig Oi music, I'd rather not be mistaken for a skinhead. You learned folks have any thoughts or suggestions?

How about the year of your birth....in roman numerals?
