The CHUD Pinball Trash-Talk Thread

Shit.

Trying to get a decent score from Iron Man is tougher than trying to draw blood from a stone. Or trying to suck a tennis ball though a garden hose. Or trying to finger a nun during Lent. Or trying to jump start an electrical storm by rubbing a comb on your wool sweater.

So the Football (Soccer) table dropped today, and it seems pretty cool. The only downside is that if you want a favorite team's "skin" for the game, that's $2.99 extra. They explained that that was the only way to license the individual team's logos and whatnot, which I can understand. I don't know the first thing about the sport, but thought I'd mention the team skins thing in here. Also, the gameplay doesn't change from team to team, just the skin, so if you buy the basic Zen table, you're not missing out on anything.

Also, I'll gift this table to the first non-Yank Chewer who asks for it in this thread. If you have a specific team in mind from those available, please include that. If no Eurotrash wants it, it'll go to a bloody Yank.

132,000,000+ on the Football table, on my third try. I like this new table.

I'll bite, even though there's no Newcastle Utd table (So one of the Premier League teams is probably a bad idea, unless you enjoy the idea of me playing the thing with a permanent old-school-Max-Payne-fart-smell-face).

That is, unless someone's interested and actually supports one of these teams in which case I'm happy to pass.

It's yours, worky, you just want the default skin?

Nevermind, Worky gets the default Zen table. Now school us all!

Reply

Cheers man, will grab it when I get home. Then blind you all with pinball mediocrity!

The gameplay is really unique for this one. Games are timed (as long as you stay in play), with actual halftime shows (multiball with limited bonuses), and winning a game against the away team advances you to the next level, with all your unlocks intact. I'm guessing it must be very easy if I got 132 m. on my third try. I'm expecting Chewer scores in the billions.

AWow, it's probably the most interesting table they've done, and the gameplay changes are great. Only managed to get 75-ish million tonight (which is probably the highest I've ever scored on these fuckers). Wish I opted for a skinned table but outside of Arsenal there wasn't any teams that I liked or knew anything about to commit some money towards. I hate the delay animation when you launch a ball, my only gripe with the game...just hurry the fuck up and kick the ball already.
Reply

This is a really fun table. So far my highest is 17 million-ish, but that will be worked on.

OK, bitches.  I'm back on the pinball warpath tonight.  You've had your chances to beat my scores...now, get ready for the pain.

Our collective scores reflect this. I may slink off to Youtube for some freakin' pointers.

BRING IT, Jesus/Lincoln slayer!

AThe easy ball saved trigger on the Tesla table is my friend. Not good enough to beat Singer's score but some good old fashioned grinding for the past 20 minutes. I completely suck balls at this game, but that's okay.

The Plants Vs. Zombies table dropped today. Couldn't get the hang of it right off the bat, but looks like fun. Never played the game i's based on.

The table is a blast. I was huge into PvZ, so it's a real treat to see how they incorporated all the sounds and gameplay into it. There does seem to be a lot going on at all times. It seemed every other ramp I took would trigger some sort of special event. Took me about 4 or 5 times to figure out what the hell to do with the melon launcher and I ended up getting a blue ice ball for some purpose.

ADo they really need the pseudo granny commenting on everything you do? The other sounds on the table represent the game enough as is. It's a fun table that is more relaxing than most, thanks pseudo granny you're the best. They've been on a roll with dolling out some good tables for this shit lately.

So what other properties would you like them to do? Me, Game of Thrones, Firefly, and Jurassic Park.

Outstanding choices. I'd love to see maybe some retro gaming homages, like Wing Commander or Monkey Island.

The new 4-table Pinball FX Star Wars pack dropped today, for $9.99. I'll get 'em, 'cause I'm a completist, but I'd love to see some new properties.

Reply

Will definitely be grabbing that Star Wars pack. I agree that some new properties would be nice, but at the same time they've been doing such a good job with these Star Wars ones I can't complain too much.

Reply

I want a Prequel Trilogy pack and of course an Ewoks table. IT IS MANDATORY.

They're having a "May the 4th" PS sale and there's a Star Wars table or two discounted: https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/#!/en-us/may-the-4th-sale/cid=STORE-MSF77008-9_MAYTHE4THSALE

After a quick test of all four tables, I think I like the one (and I can't remember which one it is at the moment) that only has the two lower flippers, and plays fast as all hell.

The use of voice impersonators and then actual soundbites from the films can be a little jarring, but who cares.

As usual, I'm gonna gift this new set to some deserving Chewer. Make yer case here if you want these four new tables.

AI hate the bouncing action that happens on the lower sides on the New Hope table. When the balls go that way it feels like they're destined to go down the death ramp ruining some good runs. Also, that inverse mini sub-table would be great if I had dyslexia. Haven't tried the other tables in the pack yet. New Hope table is generous with the million dollar bonuses once you get into a groove, which is nice.

That MASTERS OF THE FORCE table is lots of fun.

Everyone friend me on steam - I wanna see my leaderboards on FX full of my chud buddies Smile

The Rain Dog - not surprisingly - is my handle.

Reply

I think I'm on the bottom of every leaderboard. I'm, like, the very opposite of a leader.

Reply

I made the mistake of friending some people in the FX Pinball Steam forum, and of course they all have scores in the BILLIONS. I want to go back to just the original Chewers, so I could at least feel a modicum of self-respect.

Only the free Sorcerers Lair one and I got the Star Wars triple pack that has the ROTJ table in it as well. It's annoying, cause I have almost twenty tables on my 360 thats now collecting dust.

Next time they're all a bargain on steam tho, whoa nelly. I kinda adore FX Pinball. Im shit at it - as I always was at the 'pinnies', as we used to call them here - but I find pinball incredibly addictive - expecially when I don't have to slot another dollar in every time I fuck up.

Is it "The Rain Dog" or just "Rain Dog" because I'm only finding Rain Dogs.
