They're making it easier for you to see it, though.

Only if I were inclined to buy yet another pay tv deal.
Which I'm not.

My selfish worry is that now nobody will ever see the 3D version. If the trailers are any indication, they were doing some cool stuff with diffraction.

I'm glad 3D cinema may be dead after all this.

WW84 underperforming in China.

I'll say this again. No current Blockbuster can make its budget under the current circumstances. TENET actually did extremely well with its 361 million.

During a pandemic?

What a shock!

No current Hollywood blockbuster. China's released a few that have done fine in their domestic market. Japan has one too.

From what I'm hearing WW84 is going to be in the teens for its domestic opening, the biggest of the pandemic. Considering the current amount of theaters that are open and the conditions in which they're operating, for all the gnashing of teeth accompanying it, WB's decision to release WW84 probably has helped theaters more than anyone else this period.

HBO Max probably had no appreciable impact considering that less than 10% of North America is subscribed to it. We'll see if it has any legs at the box office, but I think it's closer to the best case scenarios for theaters than the worst case.

I am curious to seeing how much a bump it gives HBO Max subscriptions.

WW84 is at a dismal $131.4 million worldwide.

Those TENET numbers are looking better and better now!

Well... To be fair it's not great.

Maybe studios will now be like: "Clearly audiences don't like female heroes, let's cancel every project!"

Here's to hoping this will work out.

My theatre reopens (with restrictions) on Friday March 19th. Don't know what our titles are yet.

Wish us luck!

I'm holding off until I'm vaccinated. Unless the theater's full of vaxxed frontline workers and old farts, you're taking a risk.

The four-day weekend is going to hit $100 million for all films, it looks like. A good number, the best since early 2020 before the pandemic really hit the US to be sure.

Great news considering The Numbers website was predicting a $25,000,000 3-day total for Quiet Place II.

Y'know, "Cruella" is basically "Joker" but for the ladies.

Huh.

So there's a Cruella movie, apparently.

I mean, is Disney going to provide all of their villains with a tragic backstory? Some folks can just be born assholes. I don't need to see Captain Hook as Swabby Hook, getting mistreated by his shipmates, who ultimately chop his hand off and feed it to an alligator in a prank gone awry.

Captain Hook has already had an animated prequel quasi-origin story.
